I actually had fun doing comps for these titles. I hope I get to see my Blu-ray menus one of these days…that would be cool. Too bad I don’t get any freebies of anything I’ve worked on; nor does my name get credited. I’m pretty much a ghost artist. Weak.

I was shooting the shit earlier at work today because I didn’t want to do this most tedious, piece of shit task; I even had a moment of dejavu because I know for a fact that I dreamt about doing this particular task months ago and in my dream I hated it…anyways….so instead I trolled the web for black & white images, mostly of actresses / entertainers from the past…

Vintage large letter postcards

These are great; the loud colors, big bold letters and graphics remind me of graffiti letters. If I had more time I could probably keep on going with these since there are so many and they are all distinctly unique.

“Established by German immigrant Curt Teich, the Chicago-based Curt Teich & Co. operated from 1898 until 1978. The company’s agents crossed the country, selling postcards and taking photographs to make new ones. Between the First and Second World Wars, Teich’s Irving Park Road plant on Chicago’s North Side sometimes printed several million postcards a day. Throughout its existence, the company maintained an archive of all of its postcards and its photographs.” (source: Encyclopedia of Chicago)
